Ask a questionQ & A
I never seem to make up my mind when it comes to trusting in God. I suffer from anxiety problems with life choices. Can God help me?
Thank you for sharing your situation and asking for advice and prayer. I am praying for you and hope that this little answer will encourage you.
Spiritually it is important to know and believe that God is real, that He loves you and that He has good plans for your life. Jesus loves us so much that he died for us to make a way for us to be right with God. Jesus died for our sin. Jesus gives us hope and a good future:
Jesus Christ the faithful witness...who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (Revelation 1:5)
It seems that anxiety or depression is a massive issue for many people in the world and Church today. I must encourage you to seek medical advice and help. It may be that you have a medical condition that medicine can help address.
The main reason that we live in a broken world and have broken and hurting lives is that our sin, and the sins of others and those who have gone before us have messed up this world. The Bible says: Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the earth was filled with violence. And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. (Genesis 6:11-12)
If we trust in Jesus and know that we have been forgiven from our sin and the Holy Spirit comes to live in us, then we have a new life and a new way to look at life. This existence on earth is very short compared to the existence we will have in eternity. If we can know by faith in Christ we are going to heaven then we do not worry so much about this earth.
Look at the words of the Psalm 18:
I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies.
The cords of death encompassed me;
the torrents of destruction assailed me;
the cords of Sheol entangled me;
the snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called upon the Lord;
to my God I cried for help.
This writer obviously had many different life issues, but he trusted in God and turned to Him for help. I want to encourage you to do the same. Even though we live in difficult times, may you know that God is with you and that nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:31).
