Ask a questionQ & A
Can God help me with immigration? Life is tough in my country and I need to move to get a job.
Thank you so much for getting in touch with us and sharing your question. I am so sorry that life is so hard for you and the people of your country.
There is one thing you can be sure of, and that is that God does wants you to work and not be destitute. He is your Maker and He can provide for you.
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
Sometimes, however, God's plan for us is different from the plan we have from ourselves. He can lead you into His plan for you, if you let Him.
The first step is to make sure you have a relationship with Him. We humans have broken His laws in many ways, through our selfishness and lies, and we need His forgiveness. Jesus tells us this:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life". (John 3:16)
God loves you and gave His Son to die for your sins, so that you can be forgiven and go to heaven. All you have to do is to believe in Jesus and trust Him as your Saviour and Lord. He will enter your life and begin to teach and guide you.
Jesus also tells us that we should not worry about what we will eat or drink, saying:
"Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you". (Matthew 6:33)
If we put God first, he will lead us and provide for us.
So the second step is to ask Him to show you His plan for you. You could ask Him whether He wants you to emigrate or whether He has something for you to do in your own country. You may have to be patient and allow God to speak in His time and way. Keep trusting Him!
The third step is to keep learning about Him until you know how to hear His voice in your life. I wonder whether there is a church you could join, where you could talk to the pastor or another trusted church member and get help and advice? Ask God to show you the right church to join. I hope you will read the Bible, too, and continue to pray. If you want to find a local church, our Church Finder may help you: Find a Church
