Question

Why the people you love the most are always away from you? How can I focus better on my work? How can I make relations better without any consequences?

Answer

Thank you for your great set of questions. This website is designed to mainly answer people's questions about God from the Bible and these questions are hard to answer in this way. Instead I would like to give you some general advice and link it to some Bible verses.

I believe that people we love should always be as close to us as possible. Sadly though we live in a broken and complex world; this is due to sin. Sin came into the world and separated us from God and also from each other.

They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. (Romans 1:29-30)

The only way we can be made right with God is through Jesus Christ. He died to forgive us, give us new life and to reconcile us to God.  If you want to know more about what Jesus has done for you please watch the video on the main part of our site: www.lookingforGod.com

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23)

With the working environment it can be helpful to know why work is important. God created man in his image and as such we have value. Part of God's work was in creation and therefore we are made with the purpose to work and bring value to our lives and the lives of others. This may be hard to think about if you have a hard job. God did warn us that work would be hard:

"Cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken" (Genesis 3:17-19).

God also says in the Bible that it is important for us to work: for even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. (2 Thessalonians 3:10). This verse is saying that if someone is not willing to work then they should also not be willing to eat as work leads to food. We should value work and be thankful for it. Hopefully this will help you focus on work better.

Finally you ask about relations. I believe that if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and follow his teaching then all of your relations will be better. However, there will probably be consequences. Often people will not like you for following Jesus. Again because we live in a fallen world it is impossible this side of heaven to live without consequences. Even if you only did what was right all of the time, some people would not like it. Look at Jesus: He lived a perfect life and ended up being murdered, even though he was innocent of any crime.

So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”
The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken— do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands. (John 10:24-39)

If you follow Jesus I believe that you will find help in all of these life questions that you have asked. I know that life with Jesus is far better than life without him.
