What do you do if you don't feel like reading the Bible because you find it quite boring?

Thank you for your honest question. I am sure that most people often feel that parts of the Bible are hard to read or even boring to read. I hope that this short answer will encourage you to keep on reading and find new joy in reading the Holy Bible.

Firstly we need to realise that it is God's word to us! WOW! God used human authors to write this amazing book. It is 66 books written by around 40 different people over 1500 years with 1 beautiful message:

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16).

Secondly we need to realise that it is a powerful book. Consider these verses:

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12)

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17).

These words have the ability to change people lives.

Third, we see amazing stories of real people and their adventure with God. The fact that so many films are being made today by Hollywood shows how amazing the real life stories are. Noah was just made and the Exodus story is in the pipeline. (The films may not be very accurate to the Bible, but the original story is still amazing!)

There are hundreds of amazing stories of how God interacts with, loves and saves his people time and time again.

There are also many different words of comfort, encouragement and joy to help us through life.
