Ask a questionQ & A
Why is it difficult to find other young Christians in church?
Thank you for sharing your question.
There is no simple answer for why it is difficult to find other Christian young people. Sadly it is an issue which the Church in the Western world is struggling with. If you moved to China, India, Africa or South America I am sure you would probably meet thousands of 20 year old Christians. In Europe and North America it seems that at around 18 to 25 years old a lot of people who grew up in Church turn away from it for a time. The reasons can be various.
The good news is that the Christian Unions in Universities all over the world are growing and doing great work. I would encourage you to seek a local group like this, even if you are not a student and try to get involved with them. There are hundreds of younger people who attend Churches up and down the country. There may also be special events aimed at young people and this may be an opportunity for you to meet other people of a similar age to you.
We also encourage you to pray that God would bring more young people to your church. I'm sure you would like to see people not just come to church, but to be impacted by the saving gospel of Jesus. Perhaps God will use you to accomplish this.
If you want to write back with your hometown we will try and find a group which may be able to help you with 20 year old Christians to meet up with.
