Ask a questionQ & A
How can I become a Christian?
Thank you for letting us know about your desire to become a Christ follower or 'Christian'. A Christian is simply someone that wants to be like Christ.
The good news is that it is very easy! Jesus said that he came to save:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned" (John 3:16-18) [emphasis added]
Jesus came to live a perfect life for us.
We have not lived a perfect life. The things we do wrong separate us from a Holy God. If we believe Jesus died for the punishment we deserve then we are forgiven.
Jesus rose again to conquer sin and death for us.
If we believe that Jesus rose to new life we also get new life.
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to give us the promise of eternal life.
In summary, if you believe Jesus died to forgive you, and rose again to give you new life, then confess your sins to Him and ask for forgiveness. Here is a Scripture that promised Jesus will save you:
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame" (Romans 10:9-11)
Cry out to Jesus to forgive you and give you new life!
