Ask a questionQ & A
Why does God desert those who used to have faith? I have lost my wife, kids and God in 10 months. How could he stay silent and offer no reason? No father would do this to a child!
Thank you for sharing your situation. I am so sorry to hear of your hard times.
Without knowing more about your situation it is hard to comment. However, please know that your situation matters to God. I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through, but the Bible assures us that God doesn't desert those who trust in Him. He promises to never leave His people. Consider these verses:
Be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we can confidently say,
"The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me" (Hebrews 13:5-6).
I wonder if you realise truly what God has done for you? He sacrificed His Fatherly love by sending His only Son to die for us so we never have to be separated from Him. You say that no father would do that to their child...but God did do that to His Son. Jesus died and was separated from God His Father so that we never have to be!
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him" (John 3:16-17)
Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7)
In summary, we are sorry to hear of your hard times, but God has not abandoned you. Rather, cast your concerns onto Jesus, ask for His help. Pray to God that He would show you a way out. We do not believe that God has been silent to you, perhaps only teaching you something, but you should also remember that God Himself knows what it is like to lose a loved one; His own Son who died for us.
