Ask a questionQ & A
My spouse is an alcoholic. Do you know where they can get help?
Thank you for submitting your question to LookingforGod. We are sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time with your spouse, but we are praying for you and hope that you will know the closeness of God during this time.
As LookingforGod, we are not set up to offer counselling advice. However, below are a number of different organisations that are able to help you.
- Christians Against Poverty. CAP Release Groups are run locally and can help people to find freedom from life controlling habits.
- Gilead Foundations Centre. A national organisation that provides therapy to persons suffering from alcohol abuse.
- Teen Challenge. Providing alcohol rehabilitation services in the UK for men and women aged 18-40.
It is our hope that these groups may help you.
We will be praying for you and your situation, but we also hope that you will pray for your husband as well. Also, it is our hope that you attend a local Bible believing church and that you speak to your local church leader about your situation. They will be able to give you prayer and support during this time, and perhaps put you in contact with local services that can help directly in your situation. If you do not attend a local church, the LookingforGod church finder may help you: www.lookingforgod.com/churchfinder
