Ask a questionQ & A
Is it possible for God to educate me, give me confidence and give me hope for the future?
Thank you for being willing to ask such a sensitive question. I hope this short answer will indeed give you hope!
God wants us to enjoy life under Him, no matter what is going on around us. God wants us to know peace and to be content in life no matter where we are, what we do, who we know or what life throws our way.
This is a famous verse from the Old Testament to God's people:
"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:11-12)
The key to understanding this verse is that God's people were in a terrible situation on earth at the time it was written, but God had plans to save them and eventually they would be safe and well with God, if not on earth, then in heaven.
The first thing I would like to ask you is do you know that God wants us to know him as a first priority? We are meant to know and be in communion with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus died for our wrong that separates us from God and makes a way for us to be right with God again. Firstly I want to encourage you to see how much God loves you. Jesus died for you! He rose again to give you a new life. Have faith in Jesus' death and resurrection and know that you can go to heaven. Jesus made this possible.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar.
The fear of the Lord leads to life,
and whoever has it rests satisfied. (Proverbs 19:21-23)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Then when we know that this life is not all that there is, it gives us a bigger perspective on life. Eternity is a long time; this life is nothing compared to forever.
Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.
The Lord has made everything for its purpose (Proverbs 16:3-4)
In summary, trust in the Lord and be satisfied with knowing Him first. Then no matter what happens in life we know he is in control, that we are going to a better place, and we can trust in him all the way there.
