Ask a questionQ & A
How do I know my destiny and why doesn't God hear me?
Thank you so much for your questions; these are such important ones. We humans really need to know that God listens when we pray and that He has planned a destiny for us.
The first thing I want to say is that God loves you and is pleased when you pray. There is a way that we can be sure that God hears us. The Bible tells us that this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15)
Since He hears and grants our prayers when we ask according to His will, obviously it is important to find out what His will is. I encourage you to read a bible daily so that you know God's will for yourself. It can be hard to know where to start, of course, but I suggest that you start with the Gospel of John. Another idea might be to get some Bible study notes or a study Bible.
Secondly, you can ask God to show you His will. You might not get an instant answer, but that is a prayer that pleases God and we believe He will speak to you in the way that He knows will be best.
Thirdly, you could join a church and get help from the pastor and other wise people there. The leader should be trained to help you in a number of ways, including helping you with your spiritual development.
Even though it may seem that God has not heard your prayers, I assure you that He has and is helping you to come in the way that He has ordained.
The most important way in which we can do His will is to make our peace with Him through Jesus. We are all sinners who have broken God's good laws, and therefore we need His forgiveness. Jesus tells us that "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Jesus took the punishment for our sins so that we could be forgiven and become God's friend. All we have to do is to repent - to admit and turn from our wrongdoing - and believe in Jesus as our Saviour and Lord.
God...commands all people everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30)
In summary, there are a number of things that you can do to help you know God's plan for your life and to hear him. In particular, I encourage you to pray, to read a bible and to go to church. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, I encourage you to turn to him today.
