Ask a questionQ & A
Thinking about all the people that have existed, are alive now and will exist in the future, how can God know each of us personally?
Thank you for your question about God creating each person.
The Bible begins with God creating the universe: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God created space, time and matter. The remainder of the chapter continues with God creating land, creatures, fish, birds and finally, humans.
Think about every rock, every bird, every star, every grain of sand, every animal, leaf, river and person that is on this earth right now. You are right to say that it's a wonder that God would know about all of these. However, the reason why God is able to is simple: He is God!
God is more than a thought or essence, He is the all powerful, all knowing creator of everything that is seen and unseen.
Jesus makes it clear that God not only knows every person, but more than that tells us that even the hairs of your head are all numbered (Matthew 10:30). Just before this, Jesus tells us that when every sparrow falls to the ground, God knows about it. This can give us great confidence, that we are not alone or left to fend for ourselves, but we are to fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows (Matthew 10:31).
God looked at creation and knew that we were all sinners; that we had chosen to walk away from God. Knowing that we couldn't earn our way to heaven, God had to step in himself. He sent his Son, Jesus, to be born and live a perfect life, taking on humanity itself. He died on the cross for our sin and rose form the dead to show his power over death. By believing in him and asking for forgiveness, we can know God personally.
The death of Jesus on the cross is something that was for all of human kind, but also for you personally. God loves you, knows everything about you and wants you to acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Will you do that today?
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13).
In summary, God created everything and knows everything because he is God! Nothing is outside of his knowledge. He knows and loves every person that has ever existed, and he loves you too. God loves you so much that he sent Jesus to die for you on the cross. I encourage you to place your trust in Jesus today.
