Ask a questionQ & A
Will God help me with my addiction? I am getting help but I want God to forgive me.
Thank you for sharing your situation and asking for advice about your addiction.
We believe that God wants you to know him through this difficult time and that he does want you to be free from all addictions and sin. He has promised a day when there will be no more sickness and pain:
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away (Revelation 21:4)
It is good that you are seeking medical help. We want to encourage you to also seek the help of a local Bible teaching Church that can tell you about God's love for you through Jesus. There are also many different church based recovery groups that may be able to assist you.
Jesus died for us on the cross so we can be forgiven and have a new life. If we trust in Jesus our old life dies with him on the cross and because he rose again to new life, we have new life through trusting in him. Anyone that calls on the name of Jesus will be saved:
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame" (Romans 10:9)
