Ask a questionQ & A
I am a Christian and brought up in a Christian family but because of sadness I am struggling. God seems silent in my life.
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time and you feel that God is not at work.
Jesus warned us that there will be trouble in some families:
"For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother- in- law against her daughter- in- law and daughter- in- law against mother" (Luke 12:52-53).
The fact that Jesus said these things shows that he cares for you. He is warning us that there will be division so we can cling to him when it comes.
If you want to speak with a Christian face to face then we may be able to help you meet up with a local Church leader or representative. If you feel comfortable to share your home town we can try and advise a Church you could attend. I wonder why you may not have access to this in your church already? A main part of the Christian life is to have fellowship with other believers. If this is not something you are currently involved in it may be a cause of your spiritual issues. I cannot encourage you enough to be part of a Bible preaching Church.
At this time I just want to encourage you with some bible truths:
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:6)
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
I wonder what you expect an answer from God to look like? God does answer all prayer from his people but from the examples we find in the Bible sometimes he says yes, sometimes he says no or wait, other times he will show a different way.
God is not to blame for your family situation. However, turn to him, asking for the forgiveness of your sins and place your full trust in him. We believe that God can and will work mightily in you and your family's life.
I do hope this general answer to your question goes some way to helping you find peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. If you want to know more about what Jesus has done for you please watch the video on the main part of our site: www.lookingforGod.com
In closing, I want to encourage you to get more involved with your local church. It would be good to speak to a Christian leader or another trusted church individual regarding your question. I know they would be delighted to further answer you as well as offer prayer and support as you continue your spiritual journey:
